Growing Together: Supporting Progressive Development for Children, Adolescents, and Their Parents

Parents develop in parallel with their children. Therapists
of children and therapists of parents are in an excellent position to
assist in this mutual developmental process. After opening with a brief
introduction to a psychoanalytic perspective on parenthood, two child
analysts will describe how they engaged parents of children in treatment,
one a young child and one an adolescent, so all could resume progressive
development.
